Local Solar access fund

Local Solar Access Fund application open January 23 – March 6, 2026

The Local Solar Access Fund provides grants up to $1 million to New Mexico eligible entities for solar energy projects in New Mexico communities, and grants up to $50,000 to New Mexico eligible entities for technical assistance needed to support solar energy projects.

Eligibility

The following New Mexico entities are eligible to apply for a Project Grant or a Technical Assistance Grant

• County

• Municipality

• School District

• Land Grant-Merced

• Indian Nation, Tribe or Pueblo

• located wholly or partially in New Mexico

Additional Eligible Entity for Technical Assistance Grants

• New Mexico Councils of Government

No Match Required:

The Local Solar Access Fund issues direct grants (up to $1 million for project grants and up to $50,000 for technical assistance grants) and does not need a local or matching fund contribution.
